Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October 20, 2021
I was very diligent about getting check-ups after I finished breast feeding. I went every six months for both mammograms and sonograms because I was so acutely aware that breast cancer ran strongly down the line of females on my father's side of the family. The doctors kept telling me it was fibrous tissue and cysts, but I kept going back to have it checked. It wasn't a surprise when the results came in from two biopsies.
The word cancer is a scary word and comes in many forms, but it changes your perspective. I felt excited to focus on myself and not feel like I needed to ask permission. For me it was a gift!
Now I am celebrating two years breast cancer free!
Handmade from Fimo clay, I designed this colorful Limited Edition Sun Wheel Charm to wear as a reminder to find the sunlight in every moment. Even in the darkest times, take refuge in the colorful moments.
